Recommended Posts

I guess Promotion for the unit is an ongoing thing and so I decided to create some posters for the unit. I have spoken to the Captain and here is some of the posters that I have made so far.

Post them where you like, spread them, admire them or ignore them I dont mind.

I guess in this thread we can post ideas and media for promotion of the unit and discuss new ways to promote the unit.

Marine Intelligence... that is an oxymoron ;)

Green, these are fantastic!!! Something unique and fresh with high impact. Not seeing anything like this anywhere else. If we have an official recrutiing thread on BI forums (I think we do)... we can randomly post these to keep bumping it to the top with some info about recent operations/activities. If not, we def can =)

These are GREAT, but then I might have had a preview of some already  ;)

I love how you covered off the AT, sniper etc with 'master all disciplines', that's a perfect way of putting it.

However, looks like something was a little lost in translation around the SOO piece.  So to clear up completely...

Communications Chief
is a Critical Skills Operator (not an SOO)
is not a leader (in the context you mean it here)

Element Leader
is a Critical Skills Operator (not an SOO)
is a Leader

Operations Chief
is a Critical Skills Operator (not an SOO)
is not a leader (in the context you mean it here)

Not shown, but to make clear:

Team Leader
is a Special Operations Officer (and is literally the only SOO billet here)
is a Leader

Team Chief
is a Critical Skills Operator
is a Leader

Special Operations Capability Specialist (SOCS)
Combat Support Expertise

  • Intelligence
  • Explosive Ordnance Disposal (or EOD)
  • Fire Support
  • Communications
  • Canine Operators

Additionally:

  • Only Team Leaders are commissioned officers, thus only Team Leaders are SOO.
  • All other Marine Raiders are enlisted non-commissioned officers and thus CSO.
  • Only CSO & SOO are Marine Raiders/MARSOC, all other billets are US Navy or USMC (or US Army > "aviation").
  • Only Marine Raiders get the Marine Special Operators Insignia.
  • SARCs are not Marine Raiders, and not even Marines. They're Navy SOF.
  • SOCS are not Marine Raiders, they're specific specialised MOS Marines assigned to support Marine Raiders.
  • SOCSS/CSS are not Marine Raiders, they're support Marines assigned to support Marine special operations.
  • SARCs undertake a Navy equivalent of ITC, basically aligned to what the SEALs undergo, and attach to the Marine Raiders with that skillset. SEAL or Raider destined, there's no difference in training. We simulate that by putting them through the same 4th MRB ITC course (for ease).
  • SOCS undertake a SOF Training Course (which is shorter than ITC, but covers similar criteria in less detail, to a lesser level of expectation), SERE, and advanced SOF-specific MOS training, and attach to the Marine Raiders at team, company, and battalion levels with that skillset. We simulate that by putting them through the same 4th MRB ITC course (for ease).
  • SOCSS/CSS undertake SOF combat skills training (basic), and attach to Marine special operations with that skillset. We don't currently have these billets, so have no training program to support it.

Apologises Gentleman for the late reply but I have been away on exercise in Wales.

Man, these so fucking amazing!

I fucking love these. These are so badass.

Thank you very much Crowley and Richter.

That is awesome! You gotta tell me how you did that!

Thanks Voce, so basically this is how I did it.

1.Went into Arma 3 Editor, using the virtual world map.

2.Created a character in the arsenal.

3.Pick a animation and then activate it. (I used the in game animations, ace animations and some random animation mods)

4.Go into camera mode and get the perfect shot.

5.Next I would past the picture into Photoshop and cut out the man from the photo.

6.Create text and crazy paint splashes around him. I downloaded some paint splatter brushes.

Let me know if that helps.

Can we get a set of them in the classic "green army man" poses?

Looooool this would be such a great idea ahahah but I dont know how to make animations in game but it would be amazing if we could aha.

And yeah, these are awesome.

And thanks bud.

Yeah that makes it a hell of a lot more clearer for me guess I read some of the info wrong before. Well I shall get working on the corrections and completing all the posters this week I hope and move onto the next thing.
