  3. here are some recommendations from someone who is very tech savy and have been building computers since i was 10 years old taught by my step dad who graduated from college with a degree in computer science. so i am no noob when to comes to pc hardware by no means . it sounds like your getting standard FPS for a rig of that statue, meaning your rig is preforming optimally with the provided hardware and that in this case it is more likely to be arma 3 not being fully optimized yet that may be giving you issues. im guessing you prolly get around 40 fps on a direct x 11 game like battlefield 4 on medium settings 1080p turn off vsync in video settings and post processing in arma 3 launcher parameters check Nologs try running game in 64bit mode you may see some FPS increase if you turn on JEMalloc memory allocator 64bit in the launcher. ive heard ppl say they get around 10 fps increase also check out this guide(you can read everything but mostly this: MaxFramesAhead: and DetectedFramesAhead: http://segmentnext.com/2013/09/16/arma-3-tweaks-guide-graphics-and-performance/ like i said with your hardware it sounds like arma 3 is running optimally on your rig but you may see some increase with these tips. so if you can deal with the occasional fps drop then you should be fine, its not anything your doing, but if your not okay with it, then planning to upgrade is for you. actually what your bottleneck is on your rig is your videocard. and with arma 3 its not so much that you need a good cpu, which you do, but arma has always been very dependent on good videocard hardware also, more than other games. which is good in your case bc your CPU and RAM are fine. but like i mentioned your bottleneck is indeed your videocard. actually what i would suggest is getting a future-proof card that will run games this gen no problem and save you money in the long run that way. would be the geforce 1070 or higher. rite now pc games are advertising that a 1060 will do for recommended performance but actually now that 4k is doing its thing you need a 1070 to save you some money in the long run. and i know this to be true bc i have looked at the FPS reviews for the geforce 1070 and it will indeed run 4k games at good frame rates. one of the best things about buying pc hardware is that you "get what you paid for". which makes it nice bc then, when you buy something you know what you bought and there isnt any uncertainty about it bc you know that this piece of hardware will do what you wanted it to do. you really cant cut corners on pc hardware anymore. so spend the money on the most expensive card in your budget and if its not in your budget then i would tell you to pick a different tier of card and use the same principle. and it really makes buying stuff a happy experience bc you know that you did your job at picking a badass card and there wont ever be any buyer remorse. so if you got it spend it and if you dont then look at other options. dont settle for somthing that was a few $$ cheaper. CRANK IT UP AND MELT THE COMPUTER
