1LT Creech Posted April 6, 2016 Report post Posted April 6, 2016 I found my 7th powerline of the night. This time I got stuck... hard core stuck. WOC Hershall had to use rockets to dislodge the bird. Took a hard landing, but survived.... I am a survivor... 1LT Creech Posted May 15, 2016 Report post Posted May 15, 2016 Post 2/2 today's catchup: A few caps from trainings and FTX Recently: Pre-loadin while Capt was in Africa. Left Stone and I to turn on the lights: Stone and I testing the map the night before the op.. but Damnit Stone keep your arms and legs in the vehicle at the same time. Hershall doing some water rescues on some men that went overboard: Flight to pick up the boys... View from the sky... Was it celebration ... or poor weapon discipline? need to go back to the rifle range? 1LT Creech Posted October 3, 2016 Report post Posted October 3, 2016 So.... 6 steps to having a Blast at night with the 160th SOAR 1) No NVG. 2) Force wearing of sunglasses 3) no working instruments visible except through the light of the strobe 4) cant see the bird (cant tell if props are vertical or not, pitch/roll, gear, flaps) 5) can't see my own penis in this dark.... yes... had my gamma and brightness turned up... view distance on max... 6) Almost landed it. 1st person view on approach to the airfield... zoomed in on my instruments... After landing... as you can see the landing gear indicator states it is down... lol in flight 3rd person... 1LT Creech Posted January 31, 2017 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 Was testing the waters of the new mod pack..... well... i will let the mod pack speak for itself.... Does this hit at something? And unlike our other c130s... we can land without causing injury or blowing up.... GySgt (Ret) Spencer Posted January 31, 2017 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 HALO? How come you let Warren, Leahy and Reed go with you?? I wanted to go! (Kidding) Is the cockpit any different? Did the bird fly any different? 1LT Creech 1 Quote GySgt (Ret) Spencer Critical Skills Operator Retired
1LT Creech Posted January 31, 2017 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 Lol, I spawned them in to check out uniforms. I wouldn't say any of the birds fly differently with the exception of this one... Here is what I have gathered so far... C-130 (favor over anything we have had thus far C-130J related) - Pros: Panel to control the doors and jump lights, interior lights, nice hud, can land without hurting the occupants, can land without blowing up. The radio chatter is immersive. The bitching Betty makes me feel like I am at home. Loadin/out animations much improved. - Cons: hard as hell to taxi/turn onto runway on Tanoa Little Birds (Prefer this version over the other MELB ones) - Pros: I think there are some changes to some of the weapons. The graphics are better (can see vacant holes from fired rockets). No more "experimental" written on it. Flies the same. Loadin/out animations much improved. - Cons: Formation/Collision lights, no worky. Does not appear to have working countermeasures (still). UH/MH-60 (I think I like the base model of RHS better, but not a SOAR model) - Pros: Interior lights, collision lights are improved. Sounds are improved. The radio chatter is immersive. The bitching Betty makes me feel like I am at home. Loadin/out animations much improved. - Cons: Not the model we use and does not have the DAP models. CH/MH-47 (I like this base model of RHS better, but not a SOAR Model) - Pros: Interior lights, collision lights are improved. Sounds are improved. The radio chatter is immersive. The bitching Betty makes me feel like I am at home. Loadin/out animations much improved. - Cons: Not the model we use. Oh and don't let me even mention the freedom boner, I get playing with the AH-64D (which sadly is not a SOAR bird). But wow... I haven't found anything I don't like. The cockpit and animations are bar none. Lest, I forget to mention the fucking muzzle flash on these rifles... woot woot Capt Childs 1 Quote 1LT "Sparky" Creech Rotary Wing Aviator, Reserves 160th SOAR (A)
